Canım Mantı Çekti...Emek Mantı / Turkish Ravioli... A Dish You Don't Want to Miss...at Emek Manti

Turkish ravioli, or manti as it is called in Turkish, is probably one of the best dishes in the Turkish cuisine. Depending on the region, or the chefs imagination, it comes in different forms and with various fillings. But the most common and well known is the boiled manti stuffed with minced meat and served with tomato sauce, garlic, yoghurt and butter. It requires hours of preparation and great expertise (i.e. if you want it to be done the right way). As a huge fan of the dish, I blame myself for not having gone to the famous manti restaurant in Yenikoy, Emek Manti, before. Fortunately, my husband loves manti as much as I do and took me to the manti wonderland last weekend.

Mua Gelato Bellissimo

An Italian friend once told me that real Italian ice-cream are to be kept in metal cans; not the open way we are used to see it. Mua in the Yenikoy neighborhood is just the way my friend told me it should be. The best of it: as a first time visitor, you get to do a tasting of all they have to offer. Even though you already now what to order, still ask for the tasting.
