Az önce Gastro İstanbul'un açılış partisinden geldim. 9-12 Mayıs arasında düzenlenecek yeme içme çadır festivaline önden bir bakış. Güzel olacağını tahmin etmiştim ama böyle havalısını hiç beklemiyordum. Blogumda hakkında yorum yazdığım ne kadar restoran varsa, hepsi birer çadır kurmuştu. Tabi restoranları olunca, sahiplerinin de orada olmasına şaşırmamam lazımdı ama bahsettiğim restoranlar Vogue, Raika, Les Ottomans gibi yerler olunca, heyecanlanmamak elde değil. Kırmızı halıda adeta bir model gibi pozumu verip onlardan biri gibi hayal ettim kendimi. Belli mi olur, belki bir gün :).

I just got back from the opening party of Gastro İstanbul. This preview of the four day long eat&drink festival showed me how awesome it'll be. You won't get a chance to try out so many restaurants for so cheap prices, especially not Vogue, Raika, Les Ottomans, Ca'd Oro and others alike. It starts tomorrow so be quick.

Huzur İçinde...Den Cafe Nişantaşı.../ The Boho Den Cafe Nisantasi

İstanbul'un en sevdiğim caddelerinden bir tanesi Nişantaşı Mim Kemal Öke. Sıkça gittiğim Delicatessen ve İstanbul'da eşi olmayan Fransız restoranı La Brise burada. Bir de Den Cafe var. Lezzetli kokteylleri, muhteşem aperativoları, DJ'li akşamları ve popüler hamburgerleriyle sıkı bir müdavim kitlesine sahip bir yer burası. Havaların güzelleşmesiyle, kendimizi dışarıya atma ihtiyacı duyuyoruz. Bu nedenle, güneşli bir Pazar gününde, Den Cafe'nin dış mekanında oturup ettiğimiz  kahvaltıdan bahsetmek istiyorum.

One of my favorite streets in Istanbul is Mim Kemal Oke in Nisantasi. Delicatessen, which I often talk about and the popular French Bistro La Brise are both located here. Then there is Den Cafe. With its delicious coctails, aperativos, DJ evenings, and huge burgers, Den Cafe is favored by a considerable amount of people, in particular bohos. The summer is almost here and we all feel like throwing ourselves out to get the best out of the sun. Hence, I want to talk about a sunny day, when enjoying Den Cafe's breakfast while seated outside.

Nişantaşı'da Fransız Rüzgarı...La Brise / A French Breeze in Nisantasi... La Brise

İstanbul'da yeterince iyi Fransız restoranı yok diye hep şikayet ederim. Yemeklerini beğendiğim La Brise'ye bile bir kere gitmiştim. Bunun sebebi hem menüsünün kısıtlı hem de Taksim'deki restoranının yetersiz kapasitede olmasıydı. Nişantaşı Mim Kemal Öke'deki yeni yerini gördüğümde ne kadar sevindiğimi anlatamam. İç ve dış mekanıyla daha fazla kişiye hizmet veren restoran genişlemiş menüsüyle daha da iyi olmuş. Son zamanların en gözde caddelerden birisi olan Mim Kemal Öke'de yer alması, La Brise'yi daha ilk günden İstanbul'un en favorileri arasına yerleştirdi.

I've always complained that Istanbul lacks good French restaurants. I did enjoy the food at La Brise, but even there we only went once. Not only did the menu fall short, but also was the seating limited. I was therefore really happy to hear that it had opened in Nisantasi. With both indoor and outdoor area, La Brise Nisantasi has both expanded its seating and improved its menu. La Brise is located on the popular Mim Kemal Oke, and hence has managed to already place itself among the favorites in town.

Denicious'ın Delicious Çikolataları / Delicious Chocolate from Denicious

Pastacılara hep özenmişimdir. Müşterilerini daima en güzel anlarında yakalıyorlar. Kimse mutsuzken pasta ya da çikolata siparişi vermez... onun yerine doğum günü, bebek ziyareti, düğün, arkadaşlarla güzel bir çay sohbeti gibi özel ve keyifli günlerde alırlar bu yiyecekleri. Son zamanlarda bu sektör daha da büyümüş durumda. Birbirinden farklı markalar rüyalarınızı gerçekleştirmek üzere, adeta sanat eseri denilebilecek ürünleri sizlere sunmak için yarışıyor. Bunlardan birisi de Amerikan Hastanesi'nin karşısındaki Denicious Chocolate Company.

I've always envied people in the cake / pastry business. They always catch their customers in their best moments. No one ever buys a cake or chocolate when they're miserable (exceptions don't break the rule :)). Instead these are saved for special occasions such as birthdays, new born baby visits, weddings... Lately, this market has grown tremendously. The result; products beyond imagination. One of these brands is Denicious Chocolate Company, located right across the Amerikan Hospital in Nisantasi.
